A Program for Optimum Living

 

This series of ten individual sessions guides you in a course of self-awareness to achieve a fuller, happier life. Drawing from ancient and contemporary wisdom, the program trains individuals in holistic skills for wellness of body, mind and spirit, and helps you incorporate these into your daily life of work, family, relationships, leisure, and health.

The program supports you in finding your optimum level of living. It enhances your health and is helpful in managing stress, pain and illness; coping with transition and loss; and facing emotional difficulties and life problems.

Life is a journey, not a guided tour. No two people have the same situation and needs, so your program will evolve out of respect for you as a unique individual. We build on what you already know -- both consciously and unconsciously - and offer you some maps and vehicles for your journey. The sessions are educational and exploratory, sometimes emotional, sometimes perplexing, sometimes fun. You will be asked to work hard on your own between sessions.

The result is a new beginning in which you take the tools and insights you've learned into the rest of your life. This work is empowering. Generally you can expect increased aliveness and trust of yourself and a strengthened ability to choose health and growth.

1st Session: 75 minute intake and orientation; decision whether to take the full series.

2nd-9th Sessions: each 50 minutes. Training in holistic skills of relaxation, meditation, and mindfulness. Work with beliefs, attitudes, and motivation. Design ways to apply the learning in practical ways in your daily life.

10th Session: 50 minutes. Closing, including directions for continuing the work learned.

The ten sessions are usually completed in 10 to 15 weeks. Daily practice activities between sessions are designed to suit your individual needs and life situation. You may be asked to obtain a book or two, from a bookstore or library. Compact disc recordings will be provided for your use during the program.
